Beautiful gite and garden.  Both kids love the pool, swings, trampoline and especially Troy.  A great holiday & great hosts.  Thanks! The Burrill Family UK

Fantastic part of France and even more fantastic hosts.  Thank you so much to Jade, Julie, Guy & Troy, you made us feel so welcome, we've had such a fab holiday, we wish Airbus could be based here, we don't want to go home!  Hope to see you all again sometime soon!  Mr & Mrs Graves, Toulouse.

Julie, Guy & Jade - thank you for a lovely place to stay.  Scenic, quiet and central - an ideal base with everything we needed.  Your friendly openess and local knowledge was very much appreciated.  Sadly the weather against us this time but an ideal base for bikers.  Dorcas UK

We've really enjoyed our holiday here at Tranquille Vienne and would (and will) recommend it to all our friends.  The gite was very comfortable and had everything in it that we needed.  Julie, Guy, Jade & Troy all looked after us and entertained us - the children loved kayaking!  Thank you for your superb hospitality and we will definitely be back!  The Dixon family, UK

Lovely gite in lovely surroundings.  Julie & Guy are excellent hosts and very helpful when you need to speak to people in French!  Shame the weather wasn't warmer, seems we just missed it the week previously.  Would recommend to family and friends.  The Fox family.  UK

Back again, best weather yet!  Managed to get through a 'lifetime' supply of cherry tomatoes!  Found the joys of canoeing on the river Vienne this time round, starts just 5 minutes drive away at the campsite in Exideuil.  The campsite also does a mightly fine steak dinner!  MontrotSénard was also a new find.  A French village with restored classrooms, breadovens, forge, homes and much more all mixed in with current village life.  There was even a place to get your ox shoed outside the forge!!!  If you've not been to France alot, it's worth noting that lunchtime is a major event!  12.30 - 14.30 not alot is open, so check before you set off anywhere!  Guy, Julie, Jade & Troy are ace.  Don't hesitate to ask for help or advice.  The Ward family.  UK

Thank you Julie, Guy & Jade for all your help.  The weather was much better than the snow we had in February.  This wasn't really a holiday for us - but it was nice to spend another week here.  We will miss Troy & his ball!  The Hope family.  UK

Thank you once again for a really lovely weeks stay!  This time in the Confolen gite and not really a holiday as we were here house hunting and following our dream to find a new home in France, and yes, hopefully we have found it!  Thank you Guy for coming with us to look at the property and giving us invaluable advice and the confidence to know we would be buying a good investment.  Thanks again for al your help and wonderful hospitality and hope to see you all soon.  The Tulley Family.  UK

Thank you for a lovely week.  You have made us really welcome - very helpful.  Handy having a shop on the doorstep.  Lovely family.  The 'over 60s bikers' from Yorkshire!

Thanks so much for an amazing week in your gite.  We really enjoyed exploring the area.  We were extremely happy to receive an invite to Julies birthday party where we got to practice our singing with the karaoke!  Many happy hours were spent swimming in the pool and kicking the rugby ball in the garden.  Keep chasing that frisbee Troy!!!  The 'Whackey Shirts'  Ireland

What can I say - another top holiday break - nothing to fault, everything perfect as before.  We have met some lovely friends and will keep in touch.  Thank you so so much again.  The Hawthornthwaite family.  UK

Thank you Julie, Guy & Jade.  The gite was so homely and cheerful.  Your welcome is so warm and your local knowledge brill.  We can't praise you enough.  Not sure when, but we will be back.  The Browns.  UK

It's difficult to know where to begin.   The gite is so lovely, beautiful inside, everything is wonderful and everything works!  The rooms are spacious, clean, light and airy.  The weather has been absolutely brilliant.  We have enjoyed staying here immensely.  It wa only going to be for a week, however, 4 weeks later we are still here!!!!!  To find somewhere to stay that's lovely is hard enough but, to find a dream gite with dream weather and dream owners is the icing on the cake.  You have gone out of your way on numerous occasions to help us when we needed it, nothing was any trouble in your efforts to help us and boy, have we needed help!  Julie, with your wonderful knowledge and kind heartedness, you would be very hard pressed to be beaten by any host anywhere!!  Guy is just amazing.  His work is excellent and nothing is too much trouble, you are the ideal people for people (like us) to book and enjoy with.  We are leaving tomorrow to live in our house in Ambernac, and if it hadn't been for you all we don't know if we could have made it this far.  You are truly a fantastic couple/family and we are absolutely blessed that we found you, because had we not, we would have seriously struggled.

My second visit to stay at Tranquille Vienne and again a very enjoyable one.

Had an absolutely fantastic relaxing break!  Found everyone in the area really friendly.  Home grown veg, best we've tasted, might try ourselves at home!  Great night had in the Confolen gite; french workmen know how to have a good time!  Troy is as mad as a hatter!  A bientot!

Thank you so much to Julie, Guy, Jade and not forgetting Troy.  We have had a fantastic week, the weather was fab, hospitality was fab, the shop is ace - I didn't need to go far for my wine/beer!  This kids loved the chickens, Troy, trampoline and the pool.  This gite is just perfect, everything you could ever need.  I don't think we needed anything apart from tomatoes (how many did the kids go through? ha ha ha)  Thank you again for a fantasic week.
Hawthornthwaite family, Lancashire UK  September 2011

Thank you to Guy, Julie, Jade and even Troy for a very enjoyable stay here in the 'Chabanais' gite.  We have thoroughly enjoyed it.  They are all great company despite Guy taking the mick out of our somerset accent!  We strongly recommend the zoo at Royal, despite it being 2 hrs away.  We also went to 'Puy Du Fou' although it's 3 hrs away it's well worth the journey!  We were very lucky with the glorious weather and spent most evenings in the pool.  Thank you again for your help :)  We will return!
Bellchamber family.  UK August 2011

This is the nicest part of North Yorkshire we've ever stayed in!  Thank you for the legumes, the good times and the all day hangover!  Thank you for an awesome 2 weeks!  Guy, Julie & Jade - you guys are so lovely and we're gonna miss you lots!  Thanks for letting me steal your wifi so I could talk to Zac Efron.  We've  had the best time here :)    Thanks for a great summer!  everyone was really nice and Jade I will beat you at table tennis one day!  I hope we weren't too noisy.  I will keep in touch on Facebook!   What a fantastic 2 weeks we've had.  Thank you for your wonderfully charming gite and the supply of delicious veg - british veg is tasteless!  Great pool and relaxing gardens.  Teens loved the wifi and table tennis.  Thank you for hosting the games and music nights and for the fun and laughter we all shared.  This area of France is so beautiful and the lack of frenzied activity that is a constant in Britain all conspired to provide a wonderfully relaxing holiday.  Good luck with your business Guy, Julie & Jade (& Troy!) you deserve all your success.   Thank you for the first family holiday we have been on in 8 years without being thrown out for singing at half one in the morning!

Gite acceuillant et sympathique comme les proprietaires.  Semaine très agrèable, comme la region
Famille Degraeve  France  Aout 2011

We've just spent a brilliant two weeks here in the Rochechouart gite.  Everything that has been said in previous comments, which sounded too good to be true, wasn't - it's exactly as described and Julie & Guy have been brilliant hosts.  There when you need them and scarcly visible when you don't and full of helpful, practical advice about places, things to do, eateries, etc.  We loved the lakes, the velorail, Angouleme, the restaurant in Chirac, La Croix Blanche in Chabanais, walks and all of it really.
The Tasker Family, Daventry UK  August 2011

Hello, we liked to play with Troy and also the trampoline and swimming pool.  We liked also to do hide and seek with Jade and the other children.  Unfortunately the weather wasn't so good that we liked to go in the swimming pool every day.  We went to the velo-train and canoeing, that was very nice!  We didn't like Limoges so much, but Angoulem was quite alright.
Martin family, Holland July/August 2011

Even though we had a few rainy days in our second week, we enjoyed our stay in this peaceful, gentle and delicious countryside.  Lukas loved playing with Troy, discovering beetles, the slide, the new swing, Julies garden and the chickens.  He exercised a lot playing football and going up and down the stairs.  The word he spoke out every morning first was 'Tra' and we suppose it's 'Troy'!:)  The lakes, Angouleme, Limoges, Oradour sur Glane, St Yrieix la perche and the castles of Rochechouart and La Rochfoucauld are worth a visit!  We will have to come back to discover the rest of this wonderful region.  Now we have a good address to stay!
Aalmans , Belgium  July 2011

We've had a great week and may have found our own french retreat.  We'll keep in touch.  Thanks for all your help.

Above and beyond what you would expect from a gite!  Excellent gite, excellent service & company.  Superb local advice and beautiful weather.  We would recommend the gites to anyone and when we move here later in the year, we will be sure to send friends here.  Angelica particularly enjoyed spending time with Jade, Troy and the chickens.  Well done Guy & Julie, the gites are truly tranquil.

We had a lovely two weeks in the Chabanais Gite. It was so relaxing and the kids enjoyed being at Tranquille Vienne so much: playing with the other children; in the pool; on the trampoline; feeding the chickens and throwing balls for Troy (the dog), that it was difficult to get them to go anywhere else. Luckily Guy and Julie were on site to give us advice on some great places to go so that we didn't get moaned at too much for having dragged them away!

Tranquille Vienne: Laying between Exideuil and Chirac. Two little villages I never heard off; so you might also wonder what type of gîtes will be there? Well the answer is simple: well furnished, perfect shower and good beds. All you need for a good holiday is there. Special for families with little children: swimming pool trampoline and a large grass field.
On a few miles distance is Etagnac beach, a man made sandy beach at the Etagnac lake, our grand children loved it there. There is shade and they sell ice creams!
Moreover Julie and Guy are always there for help or advise. And last but not least their lovely Border Collie, who is always somewhere in the garden, extreme friendly and willing to play for a while. Maybe it is not the most exiting place of France, but for us it was lovely with the landscapes, sleepy old villages and the farmlands. We loved it and so did our little grandchildren who were at a nearby campground with their parents.

Tranquille Vienne is just as amazing as it looks and sounds. Already planning our next visit! Guy , Julie, Jade and Troy are all smashing! They go out of their way to help make your visit a brilliant one!
Guy was kind enough to make my mum and I genuine GJ braclets from lumps of french oak, they are absolutely gorgeous! His wooden games are pretty entertaining too, even managed to beat him once!
Julie makes the most amazing ratatouille with home grown veg! Plus she's got the inside info if your thinking of moving to France.
Jade supplies lovely eggs and can introduce you to the chickens responsible!!!!!
And Troy is just so entertaining chasing his birds non-stop!
There's everything you could wish for in the surrounding area no matter what your looking for. We tended to end up on the beach most afternoons, got a fantastic tan in just a week!
Wish I was still there to be honest!!!!!!

We booked with Julie and Guy for one night, and loved it soooo much, we stayed for another! Extremely high standard of accommodation in beautiful surroundings. You can tell the family really love what they are doing. Big hugs and kisses to Jade, Troy and the chickens from Rachel, and a huge thank you from Shirley-Ann. We will be back!

Really enjoyed our stay in the gite. Already organising our return trip. Thought Oz was great but around Chabanais is out of this world. Think we have found our retirement area. Started learning the French so watch out folks. Au Revoir. Tout a l'heure
